Listing: Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 25 September 2025, stock code 9973, at HK$30.75 a share. Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd. is not itself listed.
Chery is the founding marque of the Wuhu carmaker of the same name and still its largest by volume. The company was incorporated in January 1997 as a project of the Wuhu city government, using an engine line bought second-hand from Ford's Dagenham plant, and put its first sedan, the Fengyun, on sale in December 1999.
The modern range is built around two model families. Tiggo covers the SUVs and crossovers, from the small Tiggo 2 up to the Tiggo 9; Arrizo covers the saloons. Fulwin (风云), revived as a sub-line in 2023, carries the plug-in hybrids, and Chery calls its hybrid system CSH, for Chery Super Hybrid. Many of the same cars leave China wearing other badges: the Jaecoo J7, for instance, is the Chery Tansuo 06 at home.
Chery-badged cars sell in Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Turkey, Russia, Egypt, South Africa and other markets, and in Mexico under the name Chirey. Chery brand sales were 1,700,940 vehicles worldwide in calendar 2025. Nothing carrying the badge has ever been sold new in the United States.
Owned by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. (HKEX: 9973), which was a subsidiary of Chery Holding Group until January 2025 and is now a separately held listed company.
