The Tiggo 4 is Chery's smallest mainstream SUV outside China and the cheapest car the company sells in Australia. It rides on Chery's T1X front-wheel-drive platform, measures 4,307 mm long on a 2,610 mm wheelbase, and in Australia uses a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine of 108 kW and 210 Nm driving through a CVT. A petrol-electric hybrid version, badged Tiggo 4 Hybrid in Australia and Tiggo 4 CSH on Chery's international site, uses a small 1.8 kWh pack and a dedicated hybrid transmission.
The naming is the confusing part. In China the same car is the Tiggo 5x (瑞虎5x), refreshed as the Tiggo 5x High Energy in 2025. Chery has used at least four other names for it: Tiggo 4 Pro in Mexico and South Africa, Tiggo Cross in Malaysia and Indonesia, Tenet T4 in Russia since 2025, and DR 4.0 or 5.0 in Italy, where DR Automobiles assembles rebadged Chery models.
Chery's China site listed the Tiggo 5x from 62,900 yuan when checked on 4 September 2026; Chery Australia listed the Tiggo 4 Urban from A$23,990 driveaway. Chery Australia displays a five-star ANCAP badge on the model page but does not give the rating year, so no NCAP record is carried here.
