Omoda is one of two marques Chery created for buyers outside China. It was established in 2022 and launched internationally that October in Russia and Kazakhstan with the Omoda C5; the global rollout followed in April 2023. Chery positions it above the plain Chery badge, aimed at younger buyers.
The range is small: the C5 hatchback-crossover (sold as Omoda 5 in some markets), its electric version the E5, and the larger C7 and C9. In China the underlying cars are sold with Chery badges, which is why an Omoda has no separate Chinese line-up.
Omoda and Jaecoo share showrooms and importers and are usually counted together: the two passed 600,000 cumulative sales in August 2025 and one million in April 2026. Omoda sells in the UK, Spain, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Mexico, Russia, Kazakhstan and much of Southeast Asia; in Iran it is branded Ecoda. It is not sold in the United States.
Owned by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and run with Jaecoo as a paired sales network, Omoda & Jaecoo.
