Facts checked United States status as of 4 September 2026
- HKEX 9973
Listing: Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on 25 September 2025, stock code 9973, at HK$30.75 a share. Chery Holding Group Co., Ltd. is not itself listed.
Jaecoo is Chery's second export-only marque, launched in April 2023 and sold alongside Omoda. Where Omoda is styled for city use, Jaecoo takes a squarer, off-road look, with the J7 as the volume model and the larger J8 above it.
The cars exist in China under Chery badges. The J7 is the Chery Tansuo 06, launched at home in August 2023, and its plug-in hybrid version is the Chery Fulwin T6. Assembly is in Dalian, with local plants in Malaysia, Indonesia and Iran.
Russia was the first market in September 2023, followed by Malaysia in December 2023 and by the UK in December 2024, Australia and New Zealand in 2025 and a long list of Latin American and Southeast Asian countries. In Iran the brand is sold as Lucano. Jaecoo is not sold in the United States. Search interest in the name is far higher in Britain and Australia than in America, which is a fair reflection of where it actually sells.
Owned by Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. and sold through the same network as Omoda.
