The Jaecoo 5 is the brand's small SUV, 4,380 mm long on a 2,620 mm wheelbase and built on the same T1X platform as the Chery Tiggo 5x, the Omoda C5 and the Jaecoo 5's own electric sibling. Production began in 2025 at Wuhu and at Chery's plants in Indonesia, Thailand, Russia and Iran.
Jaecoo UK sells two versions. The petrol Jaecoo 5 uses a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine of 140 PS (105 kW) and 275 Nm, reaching 62 mph in 10.2 seconds. The electric Jaecoo E5 has a 60.9 kWh battery, a 207 PS (155 kW) motor and a quoted 248 miles — about 399 km — on the WLTP cycle. On-the-road prices start at £24,555 for the petrol Pure and £27,505 for the electric Pure.
Australia adds an SHS-H self-charging hybrid to the range and quotes 402 km WLTP for the J5 EV. Russia sells the car as the Jaecoo J6 or Jeland J6 and Iran as the Lucano L5. There is no Jaecoo brand in China, so the car has no Chinese-market name. No Euro NCAP or ANCAP result had been published for it.
