The Jaecoo 7 is the most-searched Chinese car in Britain and the model that made Chery's second export brand a household name there. It is a 4,500 mm crossover on Chery's T1X platform, with a 2,672 mm wheelbase and squared-off styling that Jaecoo pitches against the Land Rover look.
Jaecoo UK sells three powertrains: a 1.6-litre turbo petrol of 147 PS (108 kW), an SHS-H self-charging hybrid of 224 PS (165 kW) with a 1.83 kWh battery, and an SHS-P plug-in hybrid of 204 PS (150 kW) with an 18.3–18.4 kWh battery, 56 miles (90 km) of electric-only running on the WLTP cycle and 30-to-80-per-cent DC charging in about 20 minutes. Prices on the road start at £29,210 for the hybrid and £35,170 for the plug-in.
In China the same body carries three different badges — Chery Tansuo 06 for the petrol car, Chery Fulwin T6 for the plug-in hybrid and Chery Tiggo 7 High Energy — and it becomes the Jeland J7 in Russia and the Lucano L7 in Iran. Euro NCAP awarded the Jaecoo 7 'Exclusive' PHEV five stars in 2025 (81 per cent adult, 80 per cent child, 80 per cent vulnerable road users, 80 per cent safety assist); ANCAP gave the plug-in hybrid five stars in May 2025, a rating that does not cover the petrol versions.
