Maextro is Chinese. It is a luxury brand created by JAC with Huawei, sitting at the top of Huawei's group of carmaker partnerships alongside AITO, Luxeed and Stelato.
JAC owns the Maextro brand and builds the cars at a plant in Hefei completed on 16 December 2024. Huawei's role is a partnership, not a shareholding.

- Does Huawei own Maextro?
- No. Huawei's arrangement with JAC is a partnership: it supplies design, driver-assistance software, cockpit systems and some powertrain parts and handles retail. The brand and the manufacturing belong to JAC.
- What does Zunjie mean?
- 尊界 (Zūnjiè) is 'honoured' plus 'realm'. The 界 ending is shared by all four of Huawei's alliance brands, which is how Chinese buyers recognise the family.
