Listing: Shanghai Stock Exchange, code 600418, since 2001

Maextro is the most expensive of the brands built inside Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, and the only one made by JAC. It was introduced in August 2024, its first car was shown that November, and the Maextro S800 saloon went on sale on 30 May 2025 at prices from 708,000 to 1,018,000 yuan.

The division of labour is the standard HIMA one. Huawei handles product definition, design, the full-stack driver-assistance system, the cockpit software and some powertrain components, and sells the cars through its own retail network; JAC engineers the chassis and builds the vehicles. The Maextro plant in Hefei was completed on 16 December 2024 with a stated annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles.

The S800 is a full-size saloon offered as a battery-electric car and as a range-extender, aimed at the segment occupied by Mercedes-Maybach. Two MPVs, the V800 and V680, were announced for 2026. The brand collected more than 2,600 firm orders in its first 72 hours on sale.

Maextro is the fourth brand Huawei has built with a Chinese carmaker, after AITO with Seres, Luxeed with Chery and Stelato with BAIC.

The brand belongs to JAC Group, which builds the cars in a purpose-built Hefei plant. Huawei defines the product, supplies the technology and sells through its Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, but holds no equity in the brand.
