Facts checked
The Hyptec HT is a large electric SUV from Hyptec, the premium sub-brand of GAC Aion. It went on sale in China on 16 November 2023 at a starting price of RMB 213,900, after pre-sales opened the previous month. It is 4,935 mm long on a 2,935 mm wheelbase, and at launch it was offered only with a single motor; three of the four versions used an 800-volt architecture.
Pack sizes published for the car span 70 kWh to 99.5 kWh in a mix of lithium-iron-phosphate and nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistries, for CLTC figures between 550 km and 825 km. Motor outputs run from 180 kW to 250 kW. The two most expensive versions have rear doors that hinge upwards.
Exports began in South-East Asia: pre-sales opened in Thailand in March 2024, Indonesia followed in November 2024 and Singapore in January 2025. GAC Aion said at the Thai launch that it planned 15 charging stations in Thailand in 2024 and 100 fast-charging stations by 2028.
