Luxeed is the Chery brand built with Huawei. It was announced in November 2023 and became a separate company in January 2025. The cars use Huawei's driver-assistance system and HarmonyOS cockpit, are styled with Huawei input and are sold in Huawei's own stores as well as through dealers.
Huawei's role is often misread as ownership. It is not: Huawei says it does not build cars, and the Luxeed cap table has no Huawei entry. Chery Automobile held all of Luxeed Auto until 2026, when two Wuhu partnerships holding shares for managers took 15% between them, leaving Chery with 85%. Chery and Huawei signed a Luxeed Brand Strategy 2.0 agreement in August 2025 covering more than CNY 10bn of investment and a 5,000-person engineering team.
The range is the S7 saloon, the R7 coupe-SUV and the V9 people carrier. Luxeed sold 90,493 vehicles in calendar 2025. Huawei's alliance operates only in mainland China, so the brand is not exported.
Chery-owned. Chery Automobile held 100% until 2026, when a management vehicle took 15%; Huawei supplies technology and retail under its Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance but holds no equity.
