LEVC builds London's black cab. Geely's involvement goes back to 2006, when it worked with The London Taxi Company and its parent Manganese Bronze Holdings; it bought shares in Manganese Bronze in 2009, and after that company went into administration in 2012 Geely rescued part of the business in 2013 as The London Taxi Corporation Limited. The name London Electric Vehicle Company came with the move to electrified taxis.
The company's plant at Ansty Park near Coventry was opened by Li Shufu on 22 March 2017 and is described by LEVC as the first British car factory dedicated solely to electric vehicle production. Its range is the TX range-extended electric taxi, the TX Access variant used by health and care operators, the VN5 electric van and the L380, a fully electric MPV.
The L380 is the first model on Space Oriented Architecture, a platform LEVC developed with Geely Holding. In China the same vehicle is sold through the Geely Galaxy network rather than under the LEVC name.
Range-extended electric rather than pure battery electric for the TX and VN5; the newer L380 is fully electric.

Who owns LEVC?
Li Shufu owns Geely Holding at 82.23% since 1986.
Li Shufu founded Geely Holding in 1986 and owns 82.233% of it directly; his son Li Xingxing holds 8.0583% and Ningbo Yima Enterprise Management Partnership 9.7087%, which Polestar's 2025 annual report summarises as Li Shufu owning about 91.9% directly or indirectly.
Geely Holding owns LEVC at 100% since 2013.
