The Air ev is the boxy four-seat electric city car SGMW designed with Indonesia in mind, revealed there on 1 June 2022 ahead of the G20 summit and shown in China two days later as the 五菱晴空. It is the first Wuling passenger car built primarily for export rather than for the domestic market, and it is assembled at Cikarang in West Java by SGMW Motor Indonesia as well as at Liuzhou in Guangxi.
Two lithium iron phosphate packs are published, 17.3 kWh and 26.7 kWh, with a 30 kW or 50 kW motor. Published lengths run 2,599-2,974 mm depending on wheelbase, with a width of 1,505 mm and a height of 1,631 mm. Wuling quotes a range of roughly 200-300 km for the two packs, but the sources consulted do not name a test cycle, so no range is recorded in this entry.
The same vehicle is assembled at Halol in Gujarat and sold in India as the MG Comet EV, launched in April 2023 and listed from INR 499,000 under JSW MG Motor India's battery-subscription scheme, which adds a per-kilometre battery charge. Nepal, Thailand and Brunei followed in 2023. SGMW's own site lists the Chinese car at CNY 57,800-71,800.
