BYD Han: range, price, specs and where it is sold
Facts checked
The Han is BYD's full-size sedan and the car that opened the company's Dynasty series at the top of the range. It launched in China in July 2020 in two forms that still coexist: the Han EV, a battery-electric car, and a plug-in hybrid sold first as the Han DM and now as the Han DM-i. Both were among the first models to use BYD's Blade lithium-iron-phosphate battery, which the company introduced that year.
The 2025 model year, launched in September 2024, offers the Han EV with 506, 605 or 701 km of CLTC range and the Han DM-i with 125 km of CLTC electric range and up to 1,350 km combined. In April 2025 BYD added a larger, separate car, the Han L, on a 1,000-volt architecture with dual-motor outputs quoted at 810 kW; BYD claims 400 km of range from a five-minute charge. A still larger flagship, the Da Han, was previewed in 2026.
Exports are limited. The Han is listed by BYD in Norway and Brazil but is absent from BYD's United Kingdom, German, Australian and Mexican line-ups, and no BYD passenger car is sold in the United States.
