BYD Atto 3: range, price, specs and where it is sold
Facts checked
The Atto 3 is the compact SUV that opened most of BYD's export markets. China knows it as the Yuan Plus, part of the Dynasty series, and it passed a million sales by June 2025. Abroad it was BYD's first mass-market model in Australia, Europe and Japan, and it is the car that established e-Platform 3.0 and the Blade battery outside China.
The current export version is badged Atto 3 EVO. It measures 4,455 mm long on a 2,720 mm wheelbase and uses a 74.8 kWh Blade battery in the United Kingdom, quoted at 316 miles, about 508 km, of WLTP range for the rear-drive Design and 292 miles, about 470 km, for the 330 kW all-wheel-drive Excellence. Australian cars are offered with 60.48 or 74.88 kWh packs rated at 420 and 510 km WLTP.
China has since moved on. A third-generation Yuan Plus launched on 21 May 2026 is a larger car at 4,665 mm on a 2,770 mm wheelbase, with 57.5 or 68.5 kWh batteries, 540 or 630 km of CLTC range and outputs of 200 or 240 kW, from CNY 119,900. Export markets were still selling the earlier body when this record was checked, so the Chinese and export cars are no longer the same vehicle.
