Aion Aion V: range, price, specs and where it is sold

Facts checked

The Aion V is GAC Aion's compact electric SUV. The first generation appeared in 2020; a completely new second generation was launched on 23 July 2024 and is the model GAC Aion designates as its first global strategic car. It measures 4,605 mm long on a 2,775 mm wheelbase and uses the company's AEP 3.0 electric platform.

GAC offers three CATL packs — 62 kWh, 75 kWh and 90 kWh — for CLTC figures of 520 km, 650 km and 750 km. Both motor options make 240 Nm; peak outputs are 150 kW and 165 kW, and GAC quotes 7.9 seconds to 100 km/h for every version. At launch GAC claimed 125 km of range from a five-minute charge and 370 km from fifteen minutes.

The second generation launched at RMB 129,800 to RMB 189,800, below the first generation's RMB 149,900 to RMB 229,600. It was the first GAC Aion model produced at both the Chinese plants and the new Thai factory, which opened on 17 July 2024 and built its first Aion V the same day.
