Seres is the Chongqing group's own-badged electric-car brand, separate from the Huawei-developed AITO cars that now dominate its volume. It appeared at Auto Guangzhou in 2019 with the SF5, a plug-in and battery-electric mid-size SUV, following an SF5 and SF7 concept pair shown in 2018. The cars are assembled at Chongqing Jinkang New Energy Automobile.
The SF5's importance is what it became. In December 2021 a heavily reworked SF5 was presented as the AITO M5, the first car of the Huawei-partnered brand, and the group's centre of gravity moved there.
The Seres badge has since been used mainly for export models and for smaller electric vehicles. Detailed market-by-market availability for Seres-badged cars could not be established from a source this record could verify, so the market list here is limited to China; see the DFSK entry for the group's better-documented export footprint.

- No, though they come from the same company. Seres Group builds both. AITO is the brand Huawei co-develops and sells in its stores; Seres is the group's own badge, used for models such as the SF5.

- Seres Group Co., Ltd., listed in Shanghai (601127) and Hong Kong (9927) and controlled by founder Zhang Xinghai's family holding company. Huawei owns no part of it.
