Yuanhang is the passenger-car brand of Dayun Group, a private truck and motorcycle maker from Yuncheng in Shanxi that grew out of a motorcycle shop opened in 1987. The brand was shown at the Chengdu auto show in 2022 and went into series production on 8 November 2023, assembled at Yuncheng.
The line-up was ambitious for a first attempt: two large saloons, the Y6 and Y7, and two mid-size SUVs, the H8 and H9, all electric or plug-in and aimed well above the price bracket Dayun's trucks occupy.
It did not last. From October 2024 there were reports of unpaid salaries, employees leaving and showrooms closing. In November 2024 Dayun said Yuanhang had run into liquidity problems and was being reorganised, adding that its other divisions were not affected. Dayun-badged trucks and motorcycles continue.
