Zongshen is Chinese. The Chongqing group makes motorcycles and engines and is listed in Shenzhen. Since April 2004 it has run the Zongshen Piaggio Foshan joint venture, which builds scooters in Foshan for the Chinese market -- an Italian brand made by a Chinese partner, rather than the other way round.
