Who owns Dongfeng? The ownership chain, Dongfeng Motor Group's stake and the 2009 deal

Facts checked Chinese holding 100%

Dongfeng is Chinese and state-owned. The Wuhan group was founded in 1969 as China's Second Automobile Works and is held by the central government; its own-brand cars are sold as Dongfeng and Aeolus. Dongfeng runs joint ventures with Nissan, Honda and Stellantis, and took a 14% stake in PSA Peugeot Citroen in the 2014 recapitalisation, which it has since sold down.

The Dongfeng passenger-car brand and its Aeolus line belong to Dongfeng outright. Aeolus launched in July 2009 and has been run since August 2023 alongside Nammi and the eπ line under one Dongfeng passenger-vehicle organisation.
