Skywell Skywell ET5: range, price, specs and where it is sold

Facts checked

The Skywell ET5 is a mid-size battery-electric SUV, revealed in October 2020 and on sale from July 2021. It is built by Skyworth Auto, a venture between the Nanjing bus maker Skywell (开沃) and the consumer-electronics group Skyworth (创维). The Chinese-market car was renamed Skyworth EV6 in April 2021 after that rebranding; export markets kept the Skywell name, and the United Kingdom sells it as the Skywell BE11.

It is 4,698 mm long on a 2,800 mm wheelbase with a single 150 kW motor. Three packs have been published: 55 kWh rated at 410 km NEDC, 72 kWh at 520 km NEDC or 400 km WLTP, and an 86 kWh pack from the 2023 model year at 620 km CLTC or 489 km WLTP. The gap between the NEDC, CLTC and WLTP figures for the same car is the reason each number here names its cycle.

The Chinese launch on 27 July 2021 ran from RMB 152,800 to RMB 249,800. Israel took the car in October 2021, Romania in December 2021 and Poland in April 2022; the United Kingdom followed in 2024, and the German importer Elaris sells it as the Elaris Beo. In May 2024 Skyworth Auto signed a ten-year agreement with Saudi Arabia's KAG whose first five-year phase was valued at RMB 10 billion.
