MG MG ZS: range, price, specs and where it is sold

The ZS is MG's B-segment crossover and its biggest-selling export model: Wikipedia records cumulative global sales of 999,612 units across all versions by December 2023. The first generation (ZS11) arrived in China in March 2017 and reached Britain, Australia and Thailand that November, with 1.0- and 1.3-litre turbo triples and a 1.5-litre four. A battery-electric ZS EV followed in 2019 on a 44.5 kWh pack, later versions moving to 51.1 kWh and 72.6 kWh. A second generation (ZS32) was unveiled on 28 August 2024, 4,430 mm long on a 2,610 mm wheelbase, and introduced the Hybrid+ system that MG Australia rates at 158 kW combined.
The car is assembled in more countries than any other MG. Chinese production ran at Zhengzhou in Henan and Lingang in Shanghai; Thailand builds it at the SAIC Motor-CP plant at Laem Chabang; India assembles it at Halol in Gujarat, where the petrol version is sold as the MG Astor; Taiwan built it at Taoyuan; and the second generation is assembled at Cikarang in West Java by SGMW Motor Indonesia. Thailand and Indonesia badge the hybrid MG VS HEV, South Africa calls the second-generation car the ZS Pro, and the turbocharged first-generation car was the ZST in Australia and the Middle East.
Two Euro NCAP results stand. The ZS EV was tested in 2019 and given five stars (90% adult, 85% child, 64% vulnerable road user, 70% safety assist); Euro NCAP marks that rating expired from 1 January 2026. The ZS Hybrid was tested in 2024 and given four stars (75/82/73/76). MG's own Chinese range no longer includes the ZS.
