It is 5,137 mm long on a 3,060 mm wheelbase; a longer H9+ measures 5,337 mm on a 3,290 mm wheelbase.
Two petrol engines are offered: a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, rated at 185 kW, and a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 that made 208 kW at launch and was raised to 248 kW in 2024. There is no plug-in or battery-electric version, so the car carries no electric range figure.
The H9 launched in the United Arab Emirates in December 2020, one of the first Hongqi models sold outside China in the current export push. It sits below the ceremonial L5 limousine in Hongqi's range and above the H5 saloon.
