Geely EX5: range, price, specs and where it is sold

The car sold abroad as the Geely EX5 is the Geely Galaxy E5 in China, launched there on 3 August 2024. It is a compact battery-electric SUV, 4,615 mm long on a 2,750 mm wheelbase, and the first Geely on GEA, the company's global new-energy architecture. Export naming varies: EX5 in Australia and the United Kingdom, Geely E5 in continental Europe and South Africa, and Proton eMas 7 in Malaysia and Singapore, where Proton builds it.
A single 160 kW front motor drives all versions. Three battery sizes have been offered — 49.52 kWh, 60.22 kWh and 68.39 kWh, all LFP short-blade packs — rated 440 km, 530 km and 610 km on China's CLTC cycle. European and Australian cars are quoted on WLTP instead: 430 km for the 60.22 kWh UK entry car and up to 475 km for the larger pack. The two cycles are not interchangeable and the WLTP figure for the same car is always lower.
The EX5 has been tested twice. Euro NCAP awarded five stars to a left-hand-drive EX5 Pro in 2025, scoring 86% adult occupant and 87% child occupant, and noting that several welds near the base of the A-pillar detached in the frontal offset test. ANCAP separately awarded five stars in 2025 with the same adult and child occupant scores. Geely does not sell passenger cars under its own brand in the United States.
