The Atto 2 is a small SUV sold in China as the Yuan Up, the smallest of BYD's three Yuan models. It went on sale in China on 26 March 2024 and reached Europe in early 2025. Unusually among BYD's cars, the export version keeps the Chinese dimensions exactly: 4,310 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, 1,675 mm tall, on a 2,620 mm wheelbase.

Batteries differ by market. Chinese cars use Blade packs of 32 or 45.12 kWh for 301 or 401 km of CLTC range, with the smaller pack introduced in July 2025 to bring the entry price down to CNY 74,800. European cars launched on the 45.12 kWh battery with 312 km of WLTP range and have since moved to 51.1 and 64.8 kWh packs quoted at 344 and 430 km WLTP, with 130 or 150 kW.

The nameplate is no longer battery-electric only. BYD added an Atto 2 DM-i plug-in hybrid in Europe in November 2025, quoted at up to 90 km of WLTP electric range, and launched it there rather than in China. Neither Euro NCAP nor ANCAP has published a result for the Atto 2.

元UP (Yuán UP), the Yuan Up. Yuan is a Chinese dynasty and the car sits in BYD's Dynasty series at home, below the Yuan Plus which is exported as the Atto 3.
