The Aion UT is GAC Aion's small electric hatchback, in production in China since February 2025. It is 4,270 mm long on a 2,750 mm wheelbase, with a 100 kW motor in the standard Chinese specification and 150 kW in export form. Chinese CLTC figures span 320 km to 530 km across a wide spread of pack sizes; the European 60 kWh version is rated at 430 km on WLTP.
It is the first GAC Aion model to be crash-tested by Euro NCAP. The Aion UT Premium, left-hand drive, was awarded five stars in 2026, scoring 91% for crash protection, 88% for post-crash safety, 74% for crash avoidance and 66% for safe driving under Euro NCAP's four-stage protocol.
A battery-swap version, the Aion UT Super, was launched on 10 November 2025 using CATL's swap standard, priced at RMB 89,900 with the pack included or RMB 49,900 with the battery rented separately. GAC has said European cars are to be assembled by Magna Steyr in Austria, and the model is also built at an Indonesian plant in Purwakarta.
