Kia's mid-size electric SUV is built at Yancheng and was exported first to Thailand, on 26 March 2024, then to New Zealand in September 2024 and Australia on 14 October 2024. Korea and Europe are supplied from Kia's Gwangju plant instead, from September and the fourth quarter of 2025 -- so a European EV5 is Korean-built and an Australian one is Chinese-built.
