Not Chinese-owned, but built in China
Honda is Japanese, not Chinese: Honda Motor Co. of Tokyo is held by Japanese trust banks and insurers with no Chinese shareholder. But some Hondas sold outside China are made in China -- the e:Ny1 electric SUV sold in Britain and Europe since August 2023 is sourced from Honda's Chinese joint ventures, and the same car is sold as the e:N1 in New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia. Honda runs four China ventures: Dongfeng Honda and GAC Honda for cars, Wuyang Honda and Sundiro Honda for motorcycles.
