Facts checked Ownership as of 8 April 2022
Partly
The revived Borgward was a German name with Chinese money and Chinese factories. Borgward Group AG was registered in 2008 by Christian Borgward, a grandson of the founder, and Karlheinz Knoess; BAIC's truck subsidiary Foton put up the investment and built the cars in China, and the first SUVs went on sale in January 2017.
