M-Hero is Dongfeng's luxury off-road brand, established in 2022. It takes its Chinese name, 猛士 (Měngshì), from the military light utility vehicle Dongfeng has built for the Chinese armed forces; the civilian brand is a separate business aimed at private buyers.

Its first model, the M-Hero 917, arrived in 2023 as a full-size off-road SUV in battery-electric and range-extender forms with a claimed output above 1,000 horsepower. The M-Hunter recreational off-roader followed in 2024 and the M817, a plug-in hybrid and range-extender, in 2025. Every M-Hero so far has been electrified; none is a conventional petrol vehicle.

In September 2025 M-Hero announced a joint arrangement involving Huawei to develop advanced off-road SUVs. The brand sells in China; no export market was confirmed for this entry.
