The smart #3 is the coupe-roofed sibling of the #1: longer, lower and on the same Geely SEA electric platform, built at Xi'an in Shaanxi province, China, from 2023. It was shown in China in April 2023 as the 精灵#3 and reached European customers in early 2024 after an unveiling at the Munich show in September 2023.
smart offers 49 kWh and 66 kWh batteries. WLTP range runs from 202 miles (325 km) for the Pro to 283 miles (455 km) for the Premium, with the BRABUS all-wheel-drive version making 315 kW and reaching 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. smart UK quotes exterior dimensions of 4,400 by 1,844 by 1,556 mm on a 2,785 mm wheelbase and a starting price of GBP 33,960.
Euro NCAP awarded five stars in 2023, and ANCAP published a matching five-star result covering Australian cars on sale from September 2024. Like the rest of the smart range it is a product of the Mercedes-Benz AG and Geely Holding joint venture, designed by Mercedes-Benz and engineered and built by Geely, and it is not sold in the United States.
