On 3 June 2026 Lotus opened orders in mainland Europe for the Eletre X, a hybrid version on a new in-house architecture Lotus calls X-Hybrid. It pairs a 70 kWh high-discharge battery on a 900-volt system with a 150 kW onboard generator driven by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 52-litre fuel tank, for a target combined WLTP range of more than 1,200 km and up to 350 km on electricity alone. Lotus quotes up to 952 PS (about 700 kW) and 935 Nm, 20 to 80 per cent charging in about nine minutes on a 350 kW DC charger, and a starting price of EUR 96,990, with deliveries from the fourth quarter of 2026.
Ownership sits with Lotus Technology Inc., listed on Nasdaq as LOT and controlled by Geely. On 25 August 2026 Lotus Tech completed the acquisition of 100 per cent of Lotus Advance Technologies Sdn Bhd - the British sportscar and engineering business at Hethel - after Geely HK and Etika exercised put options, bringing the whole of Lotus under one corporate structure.
